Good Evening, Well we’ve gotten off to a decent start in 2021 despite all the political stuff that’s going on. That just tells me that if they will just get out of this markets way it will roll! The main theme despite the sideshows continues to be the prospect of a new stimulus plan. With the Democrats having the upper hand in the House, Senate, and White House there is no doubt that this will get done and that it will be big. Nonetheless, the market loves affirmation of issues that it views as positive and it got some today when Aunt Janet returned to Capital Hill. That’s right, you remember the former Fed Chairman Janet Yellen? The one who always looked like she should be serving milk and cookies at during her FED statements? Well she’s back and I might add that she is popular on Wall Street! She has been appointed as the new Secretary of Treasury and was speaking today at her confirmation hearing where she made a strong case in favor of the stimulus package. Her strong endorsement of the stimulus bill will only help it move along faster. You remember the old EF Hutten commercials on TV?? “When EF Hutton talks. People listen”   Well when Aunt Janet talks people listen. They really listen. She transcends political lines and I approve of her appointment. Of course not all was good with her testimony. She also dedicated some time to selling a Corporate Tax Hike. I understand she must do that as part of the Biden Cabinet, but in the end that’s one that even Aunt Janet will be unable to sell. The market is taking it one day at a time and one issue at a time and right now it’s clearly focused on stimulus. There is nothing the market likes better than to have additional capital injected into the economy. We learned that well in 2009. Got that lesson! Boy did I ever get it…. Anyway the market is so enamoured with the stimulus bill that it is overlooking other upcoming issues and this tax thing is a big one. I told you before and I’m telling you again that it will be a major headwind for the market. Not a good thing. Check the link out and see what she said. Also, like a said before. There are no guarantees anytime I talk about the future. You all know how I feel about that! I never make investment decisions based on what I think may or may not happen. That said and noted, with the tax hikes and increased regulations that are favored by the incoming administration it’s best to make hay while the sun is shining. For those of you from the city that means take advantage of the favorable conditions and make as much money as you can now! Things will likely slow down when the market gets around to considering a corporate tax increase, but for now we roll on!! Praise God for that!

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allocation posted a nice gain of +1.04%. For comparison, the Dow added +0.38%, the Nasdaq +1.53%, and the S&P 500 +81%. Praise God for another great day!
