01/25/17

Good Evening, While most of the market had a flat day the Dow managed to close above 20,000 after breaking the psychological barrier just yesterday. Other than a feel good thing, 20,000 for the Dow is meaningless. What is important is that the Dows chart breached overhead resistance and now has a little more room to run. While that is good it also has limited meaning as the Dow is made up of only 30 blue chip stocks. What is more important in my book is the S&P 500, the Nasdaq, and the Russell 2000 which are made up of many more stocks. Although they are different in nature (the Nasdaq is mostly tech,  the Russell is small caps, and the S&P 500 large caps) then taken as a whole they present the best overall picture of the market. Right now, their charts all show positive trends and that is the reason that I am currently invested in stocks!

The days give and take left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment slipped back -0.23%. For comparison, the Dow added +0.16%, the Nasdaq was flat at -0.02%, and the S&P 500 was just behind at -0.07%.

Wall Street ends flat after 2-day run; Dow stays above 20,000

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Buy, I-Buy, and F-Neutral. We are currently invested with 100% in the S Fund. Our allocation is now +3.34% on the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

As you can see from the charts above we are still in an upward trend. As with any trend not all the days are winners, but the average continues to move up and as long as it does, we’ll move with it. That’s all for this time. Have a great evening and may God continue to bless your trades!
God bless, Scott 8-)

Good morning, I’ll keep this brief because I’m on the road again. This market is volatile! I don’t care what the so called experts say. I don’t care what the VIX is. I don’t care whether folks are making money or losing money. It is one of the most volatile and fluid markets I have…

Good Day, It’s time to adjust our mix. The new mix is 100/S. Please remember that this is the percentage of money that we have invested in each fund, not the money that is taken from your check and deposited into thrift. Those future contributions should always be 100% G Fund. That automatically protects your deposit in the event that it…
