02/21/14

Good Evening,

More flat trading after a nice run. We’re still bumping off of that ceiling that is in place at record territory. As I said some time ago, I expect this to be the case until we have a real correction. It’s almost like running on a treadmill. There’s a lot of action, but we’re really not going anywhere. The market makes nice gains only to give them up a few days later and make them back again a day or so after that. This market wants and needs to correct, but between the machines and the Fed Money, it just can’t seem to do so. Such is what we have to endure….

Stocks end week on a quiet note

The week’s trading left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Buy, I-Buy, F-Neutral. We are currently invested at 40/C, 15/S, 45/I. Our allocation is -1.60% on the year. Here are the latest posted results:

Our equity based charts continue to hit overhead resistance. I have annotated the ceiling of resistance with a blue line. I realize that the S-Fund has done well this week, but its chart is pretty much the same as this one. You can include the I Fund in that category as well.  Of course, the resistance is at record territory, so for the market to make new gains it must set new records. That is very hard to do on a consistent basis. This market is in bad need of a correction of 10% or more. To keep running like this is simply not healthy.

We will continue to watch our charts for any new trends that may develop, but my guess is that at least for the time being, we will get more of the same. Short runs up and short runs down with little progress made in either direction. Hard if not impossible to time, so we’ll stay put for now. That’s all for this week. Have a nice weekend. May God continue to bless your trades.

Good Day, It’s time to adjust our mix. The new mix is 100/G Please remember that this is the percentage of money that we have invested in each fund, not the money that is taken from your check and deposited into thrift. Those future contributions should always be 100% G Fund. That automatically protects your deposit in the event that it is…

Good Morning, All I can say about this market right now is that it’s fluid. While corporate earnings are a constant with over 70% of the reports beating estimates, the tariff situation is anything but. The Trump administration continues to discuss and enact Tariffs on foreign trade partners (and I use the term partner loosely).…

Good Morning, Perhaps I’m getting old and don’t remember things clearly, but I just can’t remember a market with this many twists and turns. Even when it was volatile it wasn’t this volatile. I think of the 90’s and even the early 2000’s for that matter. Sure, we had the dot com bubble that burst…
