02/22/18

Good Evening, The market started off slow this morning and then spiked on dovish comments by Fed member James Bullard. Stocks remained high until late in the after noon and then sold off sticking with the current trend of weak closes. The trend of poor closes is not something that we want to see continue. It often leads to more serious market behavior down the road. Nevertheless, we remain in no mans land for now. A lot of the charts for individual stocks that I’m looking at are bullish. So I’m feeling that there is still a little money to be made heading into the spring. Then we’ll need to take a close look at it….

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment managed to hang on to a small gain of +0.10%. For comparison, the Dow was up +0.66%. the Nasdaq fell -0.11%, and the S&P 500 was +0.10%.

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Neutral, S-Neutral, I-Neutral, F-Sell. We are currently invested at 100/C. Our allocation is now +0.30% on the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

The market in 2018 has definitely taken on a different character. Increased volatility is one characteristic and daily reversals are another. We’ll have to keep a very close eye on our charts. That’s all for tonight. Have a nice evening and may God continue to bless your trades.
God bless, Scott 8-)

Good Afternoon, Yes, I’m a little late getting started with this today. I’ve been crazy busy dumping tech stocks and buying Industrial, Consumer discretionary, consumer staples, banks, and health care. I can’t recall this kind of vicious rotation in December in recent memory. This almost reminds me of when I was trying to figure the…

Good Day, It’s time to adjust our mix. The new mix is 100/S. Please remember that this is the percentage of money that we have invested in each fund, not the money that is taken from your check and deposited into thrift. Those future contributions should always be 100% G Fund. That automatically protects your…

Good Morning, We got a great PCE report on Friday showing relatively tame inflation.  The Commerce Department said that the core personal consumption expenditures price index for September – which was delayed due to the record-setting U.S. government shutdown – showed an annual rate of 2.8%, lower than the 2.9% Dow Jones estimate. Core PCE’s 0.2%…
