02/27/18

Good Evening, I missed writing the blog yesterday as I was away on business and I was just thinking how I wish I had written the blog yesterday and missed today. Writing on days like this are no fun. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell testified before the Senate today and while he was’t necessarily hawkish he did leave the door open for a possible fourth rate increase in 2018. Actually, I felt like it was more cracked than open. Nonetheless, the market didn’t see it like I did and sold off on the speculation of higher rates. God forbid that we would wait until something actually happens before the selling started. At any rate that’s what happened and here are the results: Our TSP allotment sold off to the tune of -1.27%. For comparison the Dow dropped -1.16%, the Nasdaq -1.23%, and the S&P 500 -1.27%. This was one of those days when there was nowhere to hide. I have 21 positions in my portfolio on the street and all 21 were down. Breadth was terrible. Declining issues outnumbered advancing ones on the NYSE by a 3.38-to-1 ratio; on Nasdaq, a 3.07-to-1 ratio favored decliners.

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Buy, I-Buy, F-Sell. We are currently invested at 100/C. Our allocation is now +3.23% for the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

Days like this can be discouraging if you let them. But you must keep things in perspective. Keep your eyes on the Lord and on your charts! Any time the your charts change raise your level of awareness. In other words check things closer because any change you notice on the charts could be the beginning of the next trend. As for now? The only thing we know for sure is that Bonds are in a bear market. That’s all for tonight. Have a nice evening and may God continue to bless your trades.
God bless, Scott 8-)

Good Morning, Our charts told us we were at the bottom and the fundamentals agreed. The opportunity was so compelling that we probably jumped back in a few weeks to early, but we wanted to make darn sure we were positioned for the run that would surely come. The market dipped and many chicken little…

Good Morning, Inevitably, we will have a down day and today is it. Believe it or not the S&P 500 has gone up the past nine sessions and it’s been a long time since it’s done that. So a down day today is not so bad. The recent run has pretty much put things back…

Good Afternoon, This was a Fed Driven market. It was all about when the Fed would be reducing interest rates based on inflation and that’s still the case to a certain degree, but in all actuality everything is waiting on the outcome of the tariff situation. So given that fact I’m going to say that…
