Good Evening, Good riddance February. It was the worst month for the for the S&P 500 since January of 2016. It seemed in the early going that we were going to have a decent day but selling kicked in during the final two hours of the session with the major indices all finishing well in the red. It was pretty much machine selling triggered by renewed worry about interest rates. At this point it’s only speculation but investors have now put a 20% change on a 4th rate increase by the Fed in 2018. I can think of worse things to worry about….
The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment dropped -1.11%. For comparison, the Dow lost -1.50%, the Nasdaq -0.78%, and the S&P 500 -1.11%.
The days action left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Neutral, I-Neutral, F-Neutral. We are currently invested at 100/C. Our allocation is now +1.94% on the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results.

Normally I would consider it a negative when bonds improved when stocks dropped. However, in this case I think I’ll make an exception since everybody is so worried about interest rates. When the price of bonds move up treasury yields move down. So at least for the immediate term that should decrease the upward pressure on interest rates! There, I can find a silver lining in every cloud. That’s all for tonight. Have a nice evening and may God continue to bless your trades.
God bless, Scott
