Good Evening, The market was mixed today with Boeing applying pressure which was offset by tame inflation news. Boeing as you have no doubt heard had another one of it’s new 737 Max Liners crash in Ethiopia resulting in many countries around the world grounding their 737’s. As a result Boeing stock which has a lot of weight in the Dow has sold off. On the positive side of things consumer prices in the U.S. rose 0.2% in February, driven by increases in costs for food, shelter and gasoline, the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics said. Economists had estimated a 0.2% increase for the month, and 1.6% over the past year. Excluding food and energy items, whose prices can be volatile, the consumer price index rose by 0.1%, a slowdown from January’s 0.2% increase. Economists had projected a 0.2% increase for February. I will add one word of caution about the tame inflation. I am just a little bit concerned about the lack of demand. The slip in core CPI also suggests that underlying demand is weakening…..Just saying…..

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment posted a gain of +0.25%. For comparison, the Dow dropped -0.38%, the Nasdaq was up +0.44%, and the S&P 500 added +0.30%. While I’m very thankful for our gain in bonds, I find it a bit disconcerting that bonds continue to rise. Treasury Yields moving down and bonds going up. What does that say about stocks? You all know the old adage, when stocks are up bonds are down. Something has to give….

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Neutral, S-Neutral, I-Neutral, F-Buy. We are currently invested at 100/F. Our allocation is now +5.71% on the year. Here are the latest posted results:

Good Day, It’s time to adjust our mix. The new mix is 100/S. Please remember that this is the percentage of money that we have invested in each fund, not the money that is taken from your check and deposited into thrift. Those future contributions should always be 100% G Fund. That automatically protects your…

Good Morning, We got a great PCE report on Friday showing relatively tame inflation.  The Commerce Department said that the core personal consumption expenditures price index for September – which was delayed due to the record-setting U.S. government shutdown – showed an annual rate of 2.8%, lower than the 2.9% Dow Jones estimate. Core PCE’s 0.2%…

Good Morning, Well we’ve finally arrived at the last month of 2025 and I’m glad to get here. Statistically speaking December is the third beast month for the market with average return of greater than 1 percent. It seems like this year has been one where the market was on the verge of breaking out…
