Good Evening, I missed a few blogs as we had an unexpected death in our extended family. Not that I need to do one every night. I just like to. Anyway, the market continued it’s recent trend of reversals. I’d have to say that if there was possibly a way to feel bad about making money this is it. It’s not so much bad as it is a feeling of relief that you didn’t lose. The market started off the morning well in the red triggered by concerns of a trade war. Then to hear the media tell it, those concerns eased. Traders don’t move the market off of the news. All the news does is act as a trigger. Traders trade by figuring out what other traders are going to do. So they entered the day with the market heading down off of the threat of a trade war. Of course that reaction is obvious. The next thing they did was to figure out how to make money from the situation and before you know it the algorithms are buying and the market is moving up despite the threat of a trade war. Yet again, the machines were able to take advantage of human emotion. Which brings me to the question, is the selling over? Probably not, the way I see it not a whole lot has changed. About all you can do with this type of action is determine where the market is moving in the long run, stick with it and forget the short stuff. That’s the only trade that has worked for a while. You have to set your sell signals loose and not budge unless price gets there. I personally do not find this to be an enjoyable way to invest but it is what it is and we must deal with it.

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment gained +1.10%. For comparison, the Dow was up +1.37%, the Nasdaq +1.00%, and the S&P 500 +1.10%. Thank God for another good day!

Good Morning, Our charts told us we were at the bottom and the fundamentals agreed. The opportunity was so compelling that we probably jumped back in a few weeks to early, but we wanted to make darn sure we were positioned for the run that would surely come. The market dipped and many chicken little…

Good Morning, Inevitably, we will have a down day and today is it. Believe it or not the S&P 500 has gone up the past nine sessions and it’s been a long time since it’s done that. So a down day today is not so bad. The recent run has pretty much put things back…

Good Afternoon, This was a Fed Driven market. It was all about when the Fed would be reducing interest rates based on inflation and that’s still the case to a certain degree, but in all actuality everything is waiting on the outcome of the tariff situation. So given that fact I’m going to say that…
