03/23/18

Good Evening, Today the tariff issues continued and the selling continued with it. I believe that the market will get this thing figured out and continue higher, but there are not guarantees. There are a lot of things that have to unfold before we will really know what the full impact of a trade on the US. For instance, the EU and a handful of South American countries already have temporary exemptions from the Steel and Aluminum Tariffs. Will there be give and take with the new ones? How far will China go with regard to retaliation? Will they possibly stop buying American Bonds? There are many many questions yet to be answered and that creates uncertainty. And you’ve heard me say it before, the market hates uncertainty. I know I sound like a broken record but as in every case we simply need to take our ques from the charts. They will tell us what to do.

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment give up -1.90%. Think that’s bad?? Then listen to this, the Dow dropped -1.77%, the Nasdaq -2.43%, and the S&P 500 -2.10%. It was another one of those days when there was not where to hide.

The weeks action left us with the following signals: C-Sell, S-Neutral, I-Sell, F-Neutral. We are currently invested at 100/S. Our allocation is now -0.12% on the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

Good Morning, Our charts told us we were at the bottom and the fundamentals agreed. The opportunity was so compelling that we probably jumped back in a few weeks to early, but we wanted to make darn sure we were positioned for the run that would surely come. The market dipped and many chicken little…

Good Morning, Inevitably, we will have a down day and today is it. Believe it or not the S&P 500 has gone up the past nine sessions and it’s been a long time since it’s done that. So a down day today is not so bad. The recent run has pretty much put things back…

Good Afternoon, This was a Fed Driven market. It was all about when the Fed would be reducing interest rates based on inflation and that’s still the case to a certain degree, but in all actuality everything is waiting on the outcome of the tariff situation. So given that fact I’m going to say that…
