04/16/19

Good Evening, The market was boosted by more positive earnings today with all the major indices finishing in the green. Although they did move off their highs late in the afternoon limiting them to small gains. There is no doubt that stocks have hit some resistance at this point. Part of it is that the major indices are near their all time highs that they set in September. If and when they break through that ceiling it should provide a psychological lift to move us higher. The key of course is breaking through that resistance in the first place. I believe that will take take a combination of decent earnings along with a trade deal with China. Also, we continue to get ever closer to the slow May through September period for stocks which will provide additional head winds as the market tries to move to all time highs. A new trade deal would sure be nice sometime in the coming weeks. We’ll keep praying for that!  Netflix had a disappointing report after the bell. We’ll have to see how that effects things in the morning.l It sure seems like the market isn’t dealing well with negative stuff right now. So I won’t be at all surprised if this report puts a damper on things at the open.

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment managed another small gain of +0.05%. For comparison, the Dow added +0.26%, the Nasdaq +0.30%, and the S&P 500 +0.05%. It was a small gain but I’m happy. We’re sitting on better than 10% in gains for the year and not moving backwards. I praise God for that!!

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Buy, I-Buy, F-Neutral. We are currently invested at 100/C. Our allocation is now +10.78% for the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

F Fund: Bonds are slowing down. That’s usually a good thing for stocks!

The market is a little sluggish right now. It feels like some consolidation before another leg higher. That’s all for tonight. Have a nice evening and don’t forget to keep praying for our group.

God bless, Scott Sunglasses

Good Afternoon, We talked last week about Jerome Powell’s speech at Jackson Hole Wyoming being a possible inflection point for the market and that’s exactly what it ended up being. The Fed chairman gave a somewhat dovish address in which he noted that  “the baseline outlook and the shifting balance of risks may warrant adjusting…
