Good Evening, More good earnings reports and tame inflation powered the S&P and Nasdaq to new highs today. In addition a Commerce Department report showed U.S. consumer spending increased by the most in more than 9-1/2 years in March, but a key inflation measure posted its smallest annual gain in 14 months. If that isn’t Goldilocks warm then I’m not sure what is. Also adding to a bullish view is the fact that the good earnings reports are beating estimates and causing a reassessment of the previous prediction of a retraction of earnings which had been predicted to decrease by 2% and is now only predicted to decrease 0.2%. We talked earlier about good earnings this quarter having that effect…. Let me add one more bullish spin on the day. The Trump Administration  keeps hinting that the trade negotiations with China are in their “final lap”. Oh yeah, that’s right! And how many bears do you think want to bet against that? Given all the above conditions there is a fear of being left behind. The bears know they will be trampled in the dust if a trade agreement is reached with China. That’s the reason that this spring could be much different than usual. The bears are afraid to “Go away in May”. We’ll watch our charts and see where it goes but right now I am bullish!

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment added +0.11%. For comparison, the Dow was up +0.04%, the Nasdaq +0.19%, and the S&P 500 +0.11%. Praise God for another day in the green!

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Buy, I-Neutral, F-Neutral. We are currently invested at 100/C. Our allocation is now +12.11% on the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

Good Afternoon, We talked last week about Jerome Powell’s speech at Jackson Hole Wyoming being a possible inflection point for the market and that’s exactly what it ended up being. The Fed chairman gave a somewhat dovish address in which he noted that  “the baseline outlook and the shifting balance of risks may warrant adjusting…
