Good Evening, There was no significant reaction by the Chinese to the latest proposed US Sanctions today so the market rallied. However, it ended up giving up most of its gains by the closing bell after it stepped on the land mine that is an FBI raid on President Trumps Attorney  related to the Mueller investigation. That’s where we’re at right now. In the next market moving event Investors will look for further signs of China’s stance on trade relations when Chinese President Xi Jinping speaks at the Boao Forum economic conference tomorrow. Then earnings season will begin on Friday with several big banks reporting. I have built my entire investment strategy around these earnings. If they don’t lift this market then I’m not sure what can. Analysts expect quarterly profits for S&P 500 companies to rise 18.5 percent from a year ago, which would be the biggest gain in seven years, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S. Ultimately, its earnings that power this market!

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment broke even at +0.00%. For comparison, the Dow gained +0.19%, the Nasdaq +0.51%, and the S&P 500 +0.33%.

Both the C and the S Funds are barley hanging onto Neutral signals. It is possible that they could generate sell signals at any time without an improvement in the overall market. So keep an eye on your charts. It’s going to be close but I feel like it’s important to hang in there with a strong earnings season upon us. That’s all for tonight.
