Good Evening, The market rallied today as it seemed to be relieved that the Iran news is now behind us. Some investors even seemed excited at the prospect of rising oil prices which was evident as the energy sector led the move up. It is very obvious that this market is being shaped by several ongoing issues #1 The Iran nuclear deal, #2 Trade negotiations with China, #3 Negotiations over nuclear disarmament with North Korea, #4 The renegotiation of NAFTA, #5 The Tariffs on steel and aluminum, and #6 The Sanctions on Russia for meddling in the US presidential election. After looking and the charts all day I have come to the conclusion that the character of this market has changed at least in the short term. I noticed many charts of stocks that were beaten up in this last sell off coming to life. It appears that the market will move higher from here provided that it doesn’t encounter any unexpected landmines…. I say this with one caveat. I have been wrong before and I could be wrong again. Speculation is always useful when forming contingency plans, but I am a reactive trader and will always make my decisions based on what I see before me on the charts and at the moment they say we’re moving up!

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment posted at gain of +0.66%. For comparison, the Dow added +0.75%, the Nasdaq +1.00%, and the S&P 500 +0.97%. Thank God for another good day!

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Buy, I-Buy, F-Sell. We are currently invested at 100/S. Our allocation is now +2.05% on the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

Now lets take a look at the charts. All signals are annotated with green circles. If you click on the charts they will become larger.
C Fund:
S Fund: The S Fund has formed a bullish wedge pattern. Many technicians would argue over which pattern is the most reliable and while none of them are 100% this one is my favorite. As far as I’m concerned it’s further confirmation that we’re in the right place and that we’re moving higher.
I Fund:
F Fund: Bond prices appear to be moving lower which means interest rates will be moving higher. Sooner or later that will become a drag on equities. So if for no other reason, we need to keep and eye on bonds……
The question now is not if we are going to move up but for how long. Just when you think you can take a breath it’s time to watch your charts for the next change! That’s all for tonight. Have nice evening and may God continue to bless your trades.
God bless, Scott 8-)

Good Afternoon, Happy Labor Day! I hope this note finds you enjoying some fine cuisine fresh off the grill! Well here we are starting a new month. The dreaded month of September. Good Afternoon, We talked last week about Jerome Powell’s speech at Jackson Hole Wyoming being a possible inflection point for the market and that’s exactly what it ended up being. The Fed chairman gave a somewhat dovish address in which he noted that  “the baseline outlook and the shifting balance of risks may warrant adjusting…
