Good Evening,

The market was slightly negative most of the day but perked up when the minutes from the last FED meeting were released at 2:00 PM ET. Traders became excited as the minutes indicated that there was almost no chance of an interest rate increase in June. However, the spike lasted about as long as an ice cube in the Sahara desert when it was reported that the commerce department messed up the calculations on the 1st quarter GDP and the that the numbers may have actually been stronger than initially reported. This put the doubt about a June rate increase back on the table.  So the major indices ended the day mixed. Oh what a fickle bunch these traders are. What is it that the Bible says? “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways”…… Enough said.

The day’s action left us with the  following results: Our TSP allotment actually managed a small gain of +0.106%. For comparison, the Dow dipped -0.15%, the Nasdaq added +0.03%, and the S&P 500 lost -0.09%.  I thank God for our small gain!

Dow, S&P 500 end slightly lower after Fed minutes

The day’s trading left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Buy, I-Buy, F-Sell. We are currently invested at 23/C, 14/S, 63/I. Our allocation is now +5.91% on the year, not including the today’s results. Here are the latest posted results.

Let’s take a look at the charts.

C Fund: Price finished the day with a slight drop, but the overall chart remains unchanged.

C Fund

S Fund: Price finished slightly in the green. However, like the chart for the C Fund, this chart remains unchanged.

S Fund

I Fund: The I Fund managed a little better gain than the other equity based charts with price finishing in the center of the ascending wedge. The small gain was reflected in the VTX which changed to a bullish signal.

I Fund

F Fund: Price managed a small gain bouncing off of resistance at close to 109.5. However, it wasn’t enough to change this chart as it remains firmly in a downtrend.

The day was just plain flat. The good news is that we maintained all of our gains. Summer trading is usually low volume/slow trading with an occasional crisis thrown in to wake you up. Keep your eyes on the charts and don’t fall asleep! That’s all for tonight. May God continue to bless your trades!

God bless,

Scott8-)

Good Afternoon, The sky is falling right??? Well…..that all depends on your point of view. One thing we can all agree on though. This is a difficult market. It is not a pleasant market to trade. I’ve had more than a few comments and questions mostly off the record. It’s going down we’re losing money….…

Good Day, You can read about anything you want to read about the current market. If you have a certain point of view you can find an article to assuage your feelings. It’s nice to feel good, but that kind of feel good doesn’t necessarily make you money. Just because you can find someone who…

Good Morning, I hate writing about things like this. Nobody really wants to hear it but it’s something that must be done. Are my message boards flooded? Oh yeah. You’ve got the combination of an unprecedented global event coupled with the fact that a lot of folks that are trading now never experienced a market…
