05/30/14

Good Evening,

Stocks ended up making a very slight profit on low volume. Was it a little end of the month profit taking or could it be something more? All in all it was a pretty nice week for stocks and I might add, a surprising one given that it was the month of May. I know that you all feel a lot of pressure to be in equities and some of you already are, which was definitely a good move for this week. Nevertheless, I still feel uncomfortable with this market. It is just not as stable as I would like to see it. Also, as I have repeatedly pointed out, this is the poorest season for stocks. Traditionally, only 10% of the markets gains occur between March and September which the reason they all like to say “Sell in May and go away.” The point is this, there’s a lot of headwind for this market now and I really can’t explain why it continues to melt up. That my friends is why I’m still in bonds…

Stocks hit another record, have a great May

Here’s what the SPY looked like today: Analysis by Erin Swenlin Heim
“Price has now met with overhead resistance. Looking at the 10-min bar chart above, there could be follow-through on that end of day rally next week. Volume continues to be below average but the PMO is accelerating its move higher.”

Stocks continue to melt up and bonds continue to outperform. Given the uncertainty of stocks hitting a new record everyday, I will continue to stick with bonds as long as their charts generate buy signals. That’s all for the month of May!  Have a great weekend and I’ll see you on Monday. May God continue to bless your trades!

Good Day, It’s time to adjust our mix. The new mix is 100/G Please remember that this is the percentage of money that we have invested in each fund, not the money that is taken from your check and deposited into thrift. Those future contributions should always be 100% G Fund. That automatically protects your deposit in the event that it is…

Good Morning, All I can say about this market right now is that it’s fluid. While corporate earnings are a constant with over 70% of the reports beating estimates, the tariff situation is anything but. The Trump administration continues to discuss and enact Tariffs on foreign trade partners (and I use the term partner loosely).…

Good Morning, Perhaps I’m getting old and don’t remember things clearly, but I just can’t remember a market with this many twists and turns. Even when it was volatile it wasn’t this volatile. I think of the 90’s and even the early 2000’s for that matter. Sure, we had the dot com bubble that burst…
