06/01/18

Good Evening, Today was an unusual day. There was a lot of news and it was all good. President Trump announced that the June 12th summit is back on with North Korean leader Kim Jung Il. The Jobs report exceeded expectations and unemployment dropped to 3.8%. “The Trump economy continues to work very, very well,” said Stephen Massocca, senior vice president at Wedbush Securities in San Francisco. “It’s good news for the market.” That basically sums it up. The market ignored the only potential negative coming out of the days news which is the fact that the hot unemployment number might induce the Fed to increase rates four times in 2018. After all, the market did sell off quite hard on that issue twice already since the beginning of the year. It’s possible that same thing could happen again but given current conditions I would consider it a buying opportunity. I’m not being a pessimist, just analyzing the market. To the contrary, I am extremely optimistic and bullish at this point. Can you imagine the markets reaction if a deal is hammered out with North Korea and trade opens up there? $$$$$ Oh yeah, if things just line up……

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment posted a gain of +0.83%. For comparison, the Dow was up +0.90%, the Nasdaq +1.51%, and the S&P 500 +1.08%. The S&P and the Dow out performed us a little today, but don’t be concerned, they were beaten up pretty bad in the last bout of selling. Remember!!! It’s not what you make that’s important! Its what you keep!!!

The weeks action left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Buy, I-Sell, F-Neutral. We are currently invested at 100/S. Our allocation is now +4.38% on the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

Good Morning, Our charts told us we were at the bottom and the fundamentals agreed. The opportunity was so compelling that we probably jumped back in a few weeks to early, but we wanted to make darn sure we were positioned for the run that would surely come. The market dipped and many chicken little…

Good Morning, Inevitably, we will have a down day and today is it. Believe it or not the S&P 500 has gone up the past nine sessions and it’s been a long time since it’s done that. So a down day today is not so bad. The recent run has pretty much put things back…

Good Afternoon, This was a Fed Driven market. It was all about when the Fed would be reducing interest rates based on inflation and that’s still the case to a certain degree, but in all actuality everything is waiting on the outcome of the tariff situation. So given that fact I’m going to say that…
