Good Evening, We are definitely in the clutches of summer trading. It goes nowhere and leaves you with a negative taste at the end of the day. That said every summer market takes on it’s own personality and this one has taken of the characteristic of indecision. That’s right, one day it will be up and the next there will be no momentum. There is a lack of consistency by either the bulls or the bears. Neither one can build on the momentum they had the day before. I would call it a classic struggle but it has more the feel of stagnation. I’d also say it has the feel of a market that’s toppy but then I’d be saying the same thing the talking heads have been saying for the past seven years and I sure don’t want to be compared to them. At any rate the major indices managed slight gains on the day. Tech bounced back just a little while healthcare dropped as investors remain concerned over exactly what will result from the current healthcare debate.

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment gained +0.25%. For comparison the Dow was flat at -0.03%, the Nasdaq was up +0.38%, and the S&P 500 edged up +0.09%.

Wall Street starts week upbeat, boosted by tech shares

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Neutral, S-Neutral, I-Neutral, F-Neutral. We are currently invested with 100% in the I Fund. Our allocation is now +8.55% not including today’s results. Here are the latest posted results.

Good Afternoon, We talked last week about Jerome Powell’s speech at Jackson Hole Wyoming being a possible inflection point for the market and that’s exactly what it ended up being. The Fed chairman gave a somewhat dovish address in which he noted that  “the baseline outlook and the shifting balance of risks may warrant adjusting…
