07/18/17

Good Evening, First of all let me apologize to any of you that looked for posts the past few days but where unable them. I play bass for a local praise band and have been helping with a church conference and now a revival at two local churches. I have had the best of intentions of getting this blog out but after taking care of all my additional responsibilities in the stock world  I have been unable to do so. Know this though. I monitor our allocation first and foremost in addition to my investments on the street. So in the event of the necessity to make a change to our allocation I will always put out an alert!

All that said, I will make this message short and sweet. Financials weighed on the market again today even after Goldman Sachs reported better than expected earnings. It seems the market has become concerned with the pace of interest rate increases which effect the profitability of financial institutions. Lets put it this way. It’s not a matter of if rates go up but when. I have a large position in Goldman Sachs which I do not intend to sell anytime soon…. The Nasdaq did manage to set a record today largely on the back of Netflix which reported record membership.

The days trading left us with the following results. Our TSP allotment posted a small gain of +0.09%. For comparison the Dow dropped -0.25%, the Nasdaq gained +0.47%, and the S&P 500 added +0.06%.

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Buy, I-Buy, F-Neutral. We are currently invested at 100/I. Our allocation is now +11.21% on the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

Good Afternoon, I am certainly praying for all of you effected by the ongoing government shutdown. I have been there done that and it was no fun. So far the market has shook the shutdown off as it obviously thinks that it won’t last long. My thought is that the market won’t give the shutdown…

Good Morning, Well this months almost over and so far the major indices are still holding modest gains in the +1.5% range. If we can manage to hold onto or add to those gains we will have achieved what a lot of folks said we could not do. We will have made a profit when…

Good Morning, Well we got the Fed meeting that we wanted with a quarter point interest rate decrease with the indication that the Fed is planning on two more rate cuts in 2025. As a result, we find ourselves in the odd position of holding a profit in late September. I said in last weeks…
