Good Evening, Good Apple earnings from last night brought the tech sector higher while the rest of the market was weighted down by falling oil prices. We already knew about the former. The latter was a result of a report that showed monthly crude stockpiles rising in the US. This afternoons Fed meeting minutes were no surprise with no interest rate increase as expected. An increase is expected next month but already appears to be priced into the market. In general the Fed minutes indicate that they are willing to let the economy run a little hot as long as it doesn’t get out of hand. They indicated that the economy is “robust” which is really what we want to hear. One other thing worth noting. The Trump administration indicated that they were prepared to increase the tariffs on 200 billion dollars worth of Chinese goods from 10 to 25%. Chinese officials called it blackmail. Whatever…..We’ll have to keep a close eye on our charts which is nothing new in 2018!

The days action left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment slipped back -0.03%. For comparison, the Dow dropped -0.32%, the Nasdaq gained +0.46% due to Apple, and the S&P 500 fell -0.10%.

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Neutral, I-Neutral, F-Sell. We are currently invested at 100/S. Our allocation is now +7.01% on the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

Good Afternoon, We talked last week about Jerome Powell’s speech at Jackson Hole Wyoming being a possible inflection point for the market and that’s exactly what it ended up being. The Fed chairman gave a somewhat dovish address in which he noted that  “the baseline outlook and the shifting balance of risks may warrant adjusting…
