Good Evening, The Dow just completed it’s eighth consecutive day of new highs! Folks, don’t listen to the media. The Dow stinks as an indicator! The Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) was down for the sixth day out of seven and the S&P 500 is basically doing nothing. Not to mention we are now in the worst season for stocks. This market is under pressure. Am I saying the sky is falling? No, but I sure wouldn’t expect any major gains. The way this market is trading my goal is to survive until November. The charts are still showing uptrends but they are under pressure and it could even be said that small caps are in a mild correction (which could get worse). We are OK for now. However, it wouldn’t take much to blow this house of cards over. Tomorrow we have the jobs report but given the current climate I really don’t expect it to be much of a market mover unless it comes in way above or below expectations. No….I’m really not expecting much and I’ve raised my level concern just a bit.

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment hung in there nicely with another small gain of +0.06%. Hey, they all add up. Better to move forward in this environment! For comparison, the Dow was up +0.04, the Nasdaq dropped -0.35% and the S&P 500 fell back -0.22%. Praise God for another good day! The falling dollar continues to provide tail winds for the I Fund.

The days trading left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Neutral, I-Buy, F-Buy. We are currently invested with 100% in the I Fund. Our allocation is now +13.11% on the year not including the day’s results. Here are the latest posted results.

Now lets take a look at the charts. All signals are annotated with green circles. If you click on the charts they will become larger.
C Fund: This one has stalled at overhead resistance.
S Fund: Small Caps are suffering and the S Fund is suffering. The 5 EMA crossed the 20 EMA. The PMO and MACD are negative. The Williams %R is oversold and the SCTR has now dropped below 40 to 33.4. This one is losing steam. The one positive is that it is primed for a bounced with the Wms %R at -90.54. However, the PMO has room to run before it reaches oversold territory. So there is definitely room for more downside. When this one finally does bottom, look for it to be an early indicator for the next uptrend!
I Fund: This chart is the strongest of our TSP funds. It’s SCTR of 84.8 says it all when compared to the others!
F Fund: Bonds are getting stranger as traders seek safety. Oh. I thought the Dow was setting records…..
Our allocation continues to out perform in a difficult market. God has clearly blessed our group. Give him all the praise for He and He alone is worthy! That’s all for tonight. Have a nice evening.
God bless, Scott 8-)

Good Afternoon, We talked last week about Jerome Powell’s speech at Jackson Hole Wyoming being a possible inflection point for the market and that’s exactly what it ended up being. The Fed chairman gave a somewhat dovish address in which he noted that  “the baseline outlook and the shifting balance of risks may warrant adjusting…
