Good Evening, Tech sold off hard and the rest of the market was mixed as investors blamed ongoing trade tensions between Washington and its major economic allies as catalysts for the declines. Renewed turmoil in emerging markets also led to a defensive tone in trading that has lifted the U.S. dollar to the highest level in two weeks. There was also more talk of a contagion. Anytime you want the market to sell off just mention that word whether it’s credible or not. Investors panic at the mere mention of the word and you all know what we say here “Panic is not a strategy”! At any rate the market was due for some profit taking after a nice run in August and as far as I’m concerned it really didn’t need an excuse. If course I would be amiss not to mention that fact that it’s September and we should expect some seasonal weakness. Either way I’m not overly concerned. The upward trend is still in tact.

Good Afternoon, We talked last week about Jerome Powell’s speech at Jackson Hole Wyoming being a possible inflection point for the market and that’s exactly what it ended up being.
