09/12/19

Good Evening, The market moved higher today strengthened by optimism on trade and the world economy. The US and China made reciprocating gestures to ease tensions in the trade war ahead of meetings in October. While these were only small gestures  (you can read about them in the news link below or on our Facebook page) the market felt good about the spirit in which they were made. Lets say investors are cautiously optimistic and leave it at that. Also giving the market support was a statement by the European Central Bank saying they would further cut interest rates and restart their bond buying program. I’m not really sure how much additional stimulus can help the world economy at this point but the market liked it and I guess that’s mostly what matters for the sake of this discussion.

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment posted a gain of +0.29%. For comparison the Dow was up +0.17%, the Nasdaq +0.30%, and the S&P 500 +0.29%. Thank God for a day in the green!

Now lets take a look at the charts. All signals are annotated with green circles. If you click on the charts they will become larger.
C Fund:
S Fund: The S Fund generated a new buy signal yesterday when the 5 EMA sliced through the 50 EMA and the SCTR moved above 40. Two or more negative signals or the 5 EMA below the 50 EMA or 200 EMA  or an SCTR below 40 generate a neutral signal. Any three indicators negative accompanied by both or either the 5 EMA below the 50 EMA or 200 EMA or an SCTR below 40 generate a sell signal. A buy signal is generated then the 5 EMA is above the 50 EMA and the 200 EMA, One or less indicators are negative, and the SCTR is higher than 40.
I Fund:
F Fund:
Stocks continue to move in the right direction. This is a risky deal but we really have no choice but to participate this time around. I will say this. The charts clearly support our new allocation. That’s all for tonight. Have a great evening and may God continue to bless your trades!
God bless, Scott Sunglasses

Good Morning, Our charts told us we were at the bottom and the fundamentals agreed. The opportunity was so compelling that we probably jumped back in a few weeks to early, but we wanted to make darn sure we were positioned for the run that would surely come. The market dipped and many chicken little…

Good Morning, Inevitably, we will have a down day and today is it. Believe it or not the S&P 500 has gone up the past nine sessions and it’s been a long time since it’s done that. So a down day today is not so bad. The recent run has pretty much put things back…

Good Afternoon, This was a Fed Driven market. It was all about when the Fed would be reducing interest rates based on inflation and that’s still the case to a certain degree, but in all actuality everything is waiting on the outcome of the tariff situation. So given that fact I’m going to say that…
