09/11/17

Good Evening, The market headed up today with the S&P 500 setting another new record. The rally was attributed to hurricane Irma causing less damage than anticipated and the fact that North Korea didn’t fire any new missiles over the weekend. OK, I guess we’ll go with that for now. You know what I think about the news. You can read all about headlines in the link below. What really moves the market at this time is price and technical conditions. As I said a blog or so ago, if your trying to time the market based on the news then you are in for a world of hurt. The market and the news are pretty well divorced right now.

The days rally left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment gained +0.79%. For comparison, the Dow added +1.19%, the Nasdaq +1.13% and the S&P 500 +1.08%. Praise God for another good day!

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Buy, I-Buy, F-Buy. We are currently invested at 100/I. Our allocation is now +14.23% on the year. Here are the latest posted results:

F Fund: The SCTR has now dropped to 23.9 indicating that this one is getting weaker. I’d say that buy signal is getting a little long in the tooth.
Our allocation just keeps plugging along. I know it doesn’t always seem like it but if you look at the average it’s performing excellently. That’s all for tonight. My prayers continue to go out for those effected by Harvey and Irma. Have a nice evening and may God continue to bless your trades.
God bless, Scott 8-)

Good Afternoon, We talked last week about Jerome Powell’s speech at Jackson Hole Wyoming being a possible inflection point for the market and that’s exactly what it ended up being. The Fed chairman gave a somewhat dovish address in which he noted that  “the baseline outlook and the shifting balance of risks may warrant adjusting…
