10/17/19

Good Evening, The market started off the morning cheered by the announcement that the EU and Britain had reached a deal on the upcoming British exit from the European Union better known as Brexit. Traders didn’t seem bothered by the fact that the British Parliament still must approve the deal before it is actually a deal. That folks could be a potential landmine for a future trading day, but as for now it’s no problem. The moderately cheerful mood continued into the afternoon on additional good earnings reports. Morgan Stanley (MS) and Netflix (NFLX) were some of the more notable names to beat estimates. As I said Tuesday, it’s too early too tell but the theme of this earnings season could be surprise earnings beats. Especially in the financial sector. Bank after bank are making good reports with most of them coming as a result of bond trading. At any rate investors appeared less worried about the world economy and Geo Political events in particular. Also worth mentioning, there was more positive talk about the trade negotiations with China. I’ll count that has a positive when I actually see a deal and not before. Whatever is gained today on China will be lost tomorrow on China. I will add as well that there certainly seems to be a lot of fake news on this subject. That’s the reason it’s best to just watch the charts. The price action is the only thing that will truly tell you where this market might be heading…….

Good Morning, Our charts told us we were at the bottom and the fundamentals agreed. The opportunity was so compelling that we probably jumped back in a few weeks to early, but we wanted to make darn sure we were positioned for the run that would surely come. The market dipped and many chicken little…

Good Morning, Inevitably, we will have a down day and today is it. Believe it or not the S&P 500 has gone up the past nine sessions and it’s been a long time since it’s done that. So a down day today is not so bad. The recent run has pretty much put things back…

Good Afternoon, This was a Fed Driven market. It was all about when the Fed would be reducing interest rates based on inflation and that’s still the case to a certain degree, but in all actuality everything is waiting on the outcome of the tariff situation. So given that fact I’m going to say that…
