Good Evening, It was another day of slow emotionless progress and you know what? It’s not all bad. After all we’re making money. Don’t listen to the serial top callers and other so called market experts that keep calling for the market to fall hard. Sure, it’s inevitably going to do that. But folks who think they know when and try to proactively position their portfolios are losing thousands of dollars while they wait. It’s the ones that are riding the trend to the end that are making the big bucks and you know what else? They will have enough profit made to more than overcome the downturn when it comes. Do yourself a favor and write this phrase on a post it note and stick it somewhere where you can see it every day because it’s all you really need to know to trade this market “The trend is your friend”.  Even better “The trend is your Friend to the End”! Just shut off the noise and watch your charts. If you do that you will have the time and the money to deal with the bear market when it finally does come. For those who said that day would be today…….Wrong Again!!!!!!!

 

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment gained +0.34%. For comparison, the Dow was up +0.37%, the Nasdaq +0.23%, and the S&P 500 +0.22%. Thank God for another good day!

We are now 100/S. That said it was encouraging to see the Russell 2000 set a new record today. For those of you who are new to our group or new to investing or both the Russell 2000 is an index that is made up of small cap stocks. The S Fund that we just invested in is a small cap/ mid cap blend. So the big move in the Russell 2000 bodes well for our investment in the S Fund. That’s all for tonight.
