11/03/17

Good Evening, Apple had a nice report after the bell last night, the unemployment rate went down and there was not a negative reaction to the tax reform plan so far. That translated into a good day for the market. While the gains were not stellar by any sense of the imagination they were good enough to push all three of the major indices to records.

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment gained +0.17%. For comparison, the Dow added +0.10%, the Nasdaq +0.74% and the S&P 500 +0.31%

The weeks action left us with the following signals: C-Neutral, S- Neutral, I-Buy, F-Neutral. We are currently invested at 100/S. Our allocation is now +15.17% for the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

So far so good. Small caps are possibly starting to wake up. The reason I said that about the small caps is that I have about of third of my portfolio on the street in them. Almost all of them were up big today. Actually this is a good comparison for those of you that are thinking about rolling your money out of thrift. A friend asked me about it this evening. That’s why it’s on my mind. Anyway, the TSP fund returns for the day are as follows, the C Fund was +0.31%, the S Fund +0.17%, the I Fund -0.16% and the F Fund +0.09%. My return was +1.8% for the day. As I told my friend, you can afford to pay a lot of fees for that difference. Quite frankly, the investment opportunities outside of TSP are just better. Should any of you wish to know more about where I am invested please feel free to send me an E Mail at the address listed below and I’ll be happy to make a referral. Enough of that! That’s all for this week. Have a great weekend and I’ll see you on Monday.

God bless, Scott 8-)

Good Afternoon, I am certainly praying for all of you effected by the ongoing government shutdown. I have been there done that and it was no fun. So far the market has shook the shutdown off as it obviously thinks that it won’t last long. My thought is that the market won’t give the shutdown…

Good Morning, Well this months almost over and so far the major indices are still holding modest gains in the +1.5% range. If we can manage to hold onto or add to those gains we will have achieved what a lot of folks said we could not do. We will have made a profit when…

Good Morning, Well we got the Fed meeting that we wanted with a quarter point interest rate decrease with the indication that the Fed is planning on two more rate cuts in 2025. As a result, we find ourselves in the odd position of holding a profit in late September. I said in last weeks…
