11/13/17

Good Evening, The market started off in the red again this morning and the dip buyers showed up right on cue to drive it back up. All in all it was a pretty flat day with major indices finishing with slight gains. Traders were initially disappointed by GE which cut their dividend by 50% but they seemed to be over it by the afternoon. The initial shock of the cut was due to the fact that it was the first time that GE had cut it’s dividend since the great depression. However, the dividend cut had more to do with the company itself than it did to do with the economy. Thus, the return to normalcy in the afternoon. Breadth was again poor with declining issues outnumbered advancing ones on the NYSE by a 1.27-to-1 ratio; on Nasdaq, a 1.02-to-1 ratio favored decliners. If there is an area of concern with the current market that is it. I would very much like to see that improve. The current market favors stock pickers but not indexers and that’s a negative for TSP. In order for us to have good performance we need good breadth…..

I must admit, I’m a little surprised that the action is as negative as it has been so far in November. However, I don’t see a reason just yet to sell out and pack it up for the season. That’s all for tonight. Have a nice evening and may God continue to bless your trades.
God bless, Scott 8-)

Good morning, I’ll keep this brief because I’m on the road again. This market is volatile! I don’t care what the so called experts say. I don’t care what the VIX is. I don’t care whether folks are making money or losing money. It is one of the most volatile and fluid markets I have…

Good Day, It’s time to adjust our mix. The new mix is 100/S. Please remember that this is the percentage of money that we have invested in each fund, not the money that is taken from your check and deposited into thrift. Those future contributions should always be 100% G Fund. That automatically protects your deposit in the event that it…
