11/20/17

Good Evening, The market rose again this morning led by….you guessed it, small caps! While gains in the overall market where slim, small caps out performed again with the IWM (Russell 2000) moving up a nice +0.73%. You all know what that means for our mid cap blend S Fund! When you read your charts correctly and do your home work it generally puts you in the right place at the right time and that folks is where we find ourselves. The S Fund gives us the most small cap exposure that we can get in TSP. If we were on the street we could make a lot more money, but such as it is we are doing as well as we can do. I mentioned a few blogs back, small caps pretty well out perform larger stocks in November and December and so far that looks to be the case again this year. Conversely, the I Fund is under performing just a bit with a stronger dollar. It’s still doing well mind you, just not as good as it was earlier this fall.

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment made another nice gain of +0.53%. For comparison, the Dow was up +0.31%, the Nasdaq +0.12%, and the S&P 500 +0.13%. Praise God, we carried the day again!

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Neutral, S-Neutral, I-Neutral, F-Sell. We are currently invested at 100/S. Our allocation is now +15.57% on the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

Good Afternoon, We talked last week about Jerome Powell’s speech at Jackson Hole Wyoming being a possible inflection point for the market and that’s exactly what it ended up being. The Fed chairman gave a somewhat dovish address in which he noted that  “the baseline outlook and the shifting balance of risks may warrant adjusting…
