12/10/19

Good Evening, The double mindedness of this market continues. Will China and the US come to an agreement or not? Will they apply additional tariffs on December 15th or not? The latter is the big question that faces the market at this time. The market is pretty well indifferent to the deal/ no deal question a the moment. What investors clamor to know is whether or not progress is being made and they have decided that the best barometer for that is whether or not both sides put new tariffs in place on the 15th. That is the date that President Trump decided that new tariffs would go into place if no agreement has been reached. More than likely the market will sell off if new tariffs are in fact put in place. We will see. Our job is simple…watch our charts and react to the price action that we see. Trying to guess what these negotiators are going to try to do has been a risky trade for a while……

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment slipped back -0.11%. For comparison, the Dow gave up -0.10%, the Nasdaq -0.07%, and the S&P 500 -0.11%. All in all it was a pretty flat day.

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Neutral, S-Neutral, I-Neutral, F-Neutral. We are currently invested at 100/C. Our allocation is now +13.30% on the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

Good Afternoon, We talked last week about Jerome Powell’s speech at Jackson Hole Wyoming being a possible inflection point for the market and that’s exactly what it ended up being. The Fed chairman gave a somewhat dovish address in which he noted that  “the baseline outlook and the shifting balance of risks may warrant adjusting…
