Good Evening, The Chinese made a large purchase of soybeans that they promised in good faith to do at the G-20 summit and the Chinese Tech Executive that was arrested in Canada was released on bail. Both were seen as positives with regard to ongoing trade negotiations between China and the US. Meng Wanzhou, Huawei’s [HWT.UL] chief financial officer and the daughter of its founder, faces U.S. claims that she misled multinational banks about Iran-linked transactions, putting the banks at risk of violating U.S. sanctions. The news spurred stocks to gains for the day although they moved lower in the last hour of trading finishing well off their highs.

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment was steady in the G Fund. For comparison, the Dow gained +0.64%, the Nasdaq +0.95%, and the S&P 500 +0.54%. Praise God for a day in the green.

 

Wall Street closes up, investors optimistic on China trade
