12/12/16

Good Evening, Here’s my take after following the market today. Stocks took a breather to move into mixed territory for the day. So is the rally over? I don’t think so. Most of today’s selling is likely profit taking ahead of the Federal Reserve meeting which starts tomorrow and concludes on Wednesday. Even though the market loves to love the Fed, investors will often lock in profits before the meeting to protect their gains as Fed meetings are many times market moving events. That especially makes sense this time as bank and financial stocks sold off the hardest today. I understand that banks have made a very nice run, but there is nearly a 100% chance of a rate increase and higher interest rates will benefit banks. Perhaps I’m greedy, but I think there’s more to be had and I’m playing it that way in TSP and on the street. I am expecting another pop in the days following the FED meeting as investors pile back into bank and energy stocks. As usual, we’ll watch the charts and we’ll see…..

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment stepped back -0.80%. For comparison the Dow set another record with a modest gain of +0.20%, the Nasdaq dropped -0.59%, and the S&P lost -0.11%. It’s really not surprising, the market often becomes cautious before the Fed Meeting. I just praise God for the nice run we’ve had in recent weeks and look forward to more.

OK, things are still moving along in the right direction. We’ll keep a close eye on the charts through the FED meeting to make sure that there are no surprises. That’s all for now. Have a great evening and may God continue to bless your trades!

Good Morning, Another day another challenge. This market is anything other than boring and I say that not necessarily in a good way! When it comes to the market I think boring is good. That means less volatility and that means less stress. Nonetheless, we have what we have and we must deal with it.…

Good Morning, Our charts told us we were at the bottom and the fundamentals agreed. The opportunity was so compelling that we probably jumped back in a few weeks to early, but we wanted to make darn sure we were positioned for the run that would surely come. The market dipped and many chicken little…

Good Morning, Inevitably, we will have a down day and today is it. Believe it or not the S&P 500 has gone up the past nine sessions and it’s been a long time since it’s done that. So a down day today is not so bad. The recent run has pretty much put things back…
