12/29/16

Good Evening, One more trading day to go and 2016 will be history. And the most important thing! Our group will end the year with another gain! For those of you who have been with the group since it started with a few E Mails it has been a good ride. We have had what? Only two or was it three years that we didn’t book a gain. Of course I took most of the year off in 2011 when I retired (the first time) so I won’t count that one. Bottom line is that God has always shown us favor. For that reason I must give Him all the credit and all the praise.

Today financials led the market lower as it is now obvious that traders have given up on their quest to see the Dow hit 20,000 and are content to ride out the rest of 2016. Our TSP allotment added a modest +0.17%. For comparison, the Dow slipped -0.07%, the Nasdaq -0.12% and the S&P 500 -0.03%.

F Fund: Bonds appear to be bottoming as all indicators are moving up. This could mean a downturn for stocks!

A couple of things to note chartwise as we close out the year. Our equity charts are running out of steam as all have moved to Neutral. The F Fund (Bonds) is clearly bottoming. It is a given fact that bonds and gold are considered safe havens. Since both have moved up in recent days, it is a strong possibility that we will see a decline in the first weeks of 2017. Long term investors should always stay the course and wait for the charts to confirm any move. However, if your time horizon is short you might consider protecting your gains at this time. That’s all for tonight!  Have a great evening and may God continue to bless your trades.
God bless, Scott 8-)

Good Morning, Another day another challenge. This market is anything other than boring and I say that not necessarily in a good way! When it comes to the market I think boring is good. That means less volatility and that means less stress. Nonetheless, we have what we have and we must deal with it.…

Good Morning, Our charts told us we were at the bottom and the fundamentals agreed. The opportunity was so compelling that we probably jumped back in a few weeks to early, but we wanted to make darn sure we were positioned for the run that would surely come. The market dipped and many chicken little…

Good Morning, Inevitably, we will have a down day and today is it. Believe it or not the S&P 500 has gone up the past nine sessions and it’s been a long time since it’s done that. So a down day today is not so bad. The recent run has pretty much put things back…
