Good Evening, Low volume and low volatility again ruled the day as tech stocks led a modest uptrend. There’s really not much to say beyond that. It still appears that the big dogs are holding off on any major moves until January. I look for a lot of re-positioning next week.We will see.
The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment gained +0.36%. For comparison, the Dow added +0.26%, the Nasdaq +0.16%, and the S&P 500 +0.18%. Praise God for another good day!

Now lets take a look at the charts. All signals are annotated with green circles. If you click on the charts they will become larger.
C Fund:
S Fund: Price has formed a bullish wedge pattern. If the pattern executes and I think it will, we should see the pop in the S Fund that we expected in early December albeit a little late in January. Better late than never……..

I must admit that I am a little disappointed that small caps have not performed as well as they traditionally do in December. However, as I mentioned above, the chart for the S Fund is looking bullish. Should the bullish wedge pattern execute we should see the move up in January that we expected in December and that makes sense as small caps will probably benefit the most from the new tax bill. While not totally made up of small caps the S Fund does contain a great deal of them and thus stands to benefit as we move forward. As for the move not coming in December, I have a theory and it’s just that a theory. I think a lot of investors are waiting until after the first of the year to do their selling to take advantage of the reduction in taxes. That could result in a dip in the beginning of January but I feel that they will reinvest that money in areas that stand to gain the most from the new tax bill. If I am correct the rally will go on albeit at a muted pace compared to 2017. Either way, we will continue to watch our charts and react to what we see. Sometimes things go as expected and sometimes they don’t. Tomorrow we will close out the books on 2017 and given decent day should finish out the year with a 20 percent gain. I give all credit to our heavenly Father who has again blessed this group. Be sure and give Him all the praise for He and He alone is worthy! That’s all for tonight. Have a great evening and I’ll see you tomorrow.
God bless, Scott
