03/17/17

Good Evening, The stock market and bond yields dipped today trimming gains from earlier in the week. As a result major indices ended the week with only small gains. Investors were most likely registering their concern that the Trump administration is losing the political capital necessary to pass tax reform as they continue to focus on the administrations pro growth policies. The current rally has been the direct result of speculation that Trump tax reforms will be enacted soon.

Today’s trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allocation gained +0.17%.  For comparison, the Dow slipped -0.10%, the Nasdaq was even at -0.00%, and the S&P 500 dropped -0.13%.

Our equity based funds all remain in an uptrend. So we’ll leave things alone for now. I subscribe to that old saying “if it ain’t broke then don’t fix it”. That said, I am keeping a close watch on the I Fund as it continues to out perform. The only reason I haven’t invested in the fund at this time is it’s SCTR which is now starting to rise. That’s all for tonight. Have a great weekend and I’ll see you on Monday!

Good Morning, Another day another challenge. This market is anything other than boring and I say that not necessarily in a good way! When it comes to the market I think boring is good. That means less volatility and that means less stress. Nonetheless, we have what we have and we must deal with it.…

Good Morning, Our charts told us we were at the bottom and the fundamentals agreed. The opportunity was so compelling that we probably jumped back in a few weeks to early, but we wanted to make darn sure we were positioned for the run that would surely come. The market dipped and many chicken little…

Good Morning, Inevitably, we will have a down day and today is it. Believe it or not the S&P 500 has gone up the past nine sessions and it’s been a long time since it’s done that. So a down day today is not so bad. The recent run has pretty much put things back…
