03/29/17

Good Evening, The market moved lower in the morning and then was driven off it’s lows to close near it’s highs for the day as dip buyers stepped in yet again. Buying the dip for the past few years has been a sure way to make money and the dip buyers aren’t going to stop until they get burned a time or two. The bears have several good arguments going for them this week to be sure. That said, we have to ask ourselves if the current small bounce will fizzle out as the market falls prey to their arguments or will yet another V  shaped bounce occur to squeeze the bears back into submission? My thought is this. Each time through out the past few years that I have wondered if another V shaped bounce could possibly occur, it did. So we can’t dismiss one just yet. As I mentioned in a recent blog, until the current pattern of market reversals is broken it is unwise to bet against it. Yes, sooner or later we’ll fall prey to a down trend and the bears will proclaim how they warned everybody, but will they go back and recount the dozens of times they have been wrong….I sincerely doubt it.

Todays trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment finished even at +0.00%. For comparison, the Dow dropped -0.20%, the Nasdaq added +0.38%, and the S&P 500 was up +0.11%.

F Fund: Price moved into a positive configuration using our current of indicators as the 5 EMA moved back over the 200 EMA. However, I refuse to call this one a buy until the SCTR which is currently 15.4 rises to at least 40. With interest rates rising I don’t think the F Fund can maintain it’s current uptrend and the SCTR supports my position……
The dollar rose today and put pressure on the I fund. I don’t look for that to last long. Keep praying and watch your charts. Have a nice evening and I’ll see you tomorrow.
God bless, Scott 8-)

Good Morning, Another day another challenge. This market is anything other than boring and I say that not necessarily in a good way! When it comes to the market I think boring is good. That means less volatility and that means less stress. Nonetheless, we have what we have and we must deal with it.…

Good Morning, Our charts told us we were at the bottom and the fundamentals agreed. The opportunity was so compelling that we probably jumped back in a few weeks to early, but we wanted to make darn sure we were positioned for the run that would surely come. The market dipped and many chicken little…

Good Morning, Inevitably, we will have a down day and today is it. Believe it or not the S&P 500 has gone up the past nine sessions and it’s been a long time since it’s done that. So a down day today is not so bad. The recent run has pretty much put things back…
