Good Evening, Well, It’s the first day in May and the novice stock experts are already saying “Sell in May and go away”. It’s a nice little rhyme and once folks learn it they almost always quote it. Especially, the ones that want to impress you with their infinite knowledge of the stock market. So what about the rhyme? Is it correct? Well it was true 30% of the time during the last ten years… However, if you sold during seven of those years you missed out on positive returns. Bottom line is as always, watch your charts and do what they say. I guarantee that you’ll do better than 30%. Today the market managed a positive return on the first day of the dreaded month as the market gapped up in the morning on news that congress had agreed to a budget that would keep the government funded through September. It then sold off later in the day on comments by President Trump about breaking the big banks up, but the dip buyers showed up drove most of the major indexes back into the green by the closing bell. By the matter of fact the Nasdaq closed at an all time high. So what did that mean for us?

Today’s trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment gained +0.41% on the day. For comparison, the Dow slipped back -0.13%, the Nasdaq was up +0.73%, and the S&P 500 ended in the green at +0.17%. It was another good day for the I Fund as well!

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Buy, I-Buy, and F-Neutral. Our allotment is now +5.29% on the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

Good morning, I’ll keep this brief because I’m on the road again. This market is volatile! I don’t care what the so called experts say. I don’t care what the VIX is. I don’t care whether folks are making money or losing money. It is one of the most volatile and fluid markets I have…

Good Day, It’s time to adjust our mix. The new mix is 100/S. Please remember that this is the percentage of money that we have invested in each fund, not the money that is taken from your check and deposited into thrift. Those future contributions should always be 100% G Fund. That automatically protects your deposit in the event that it…
