Good Evening, The Fed held rates steady and downplayed economic weakness leading stocks to a mixed close. There’s really not much more to say than that techs got slammed due to Apples report that I phone sales slowed down. Same old same old. If you are buying individual stocks on the street then now is a good time to buy Apple. They have a new I Phone coming out and they have more cash on the books than a lot of countries. It’s the same deal every time they report. They dip and come back. So buying Apple or anything else that dips in sympathy after apple reports is a good way to make a profit. This pattern is so old that my 2 year old grandson could make money off of it!

Todays trading left us with the following results. Our TSP allotment fell back -0.20%. For comparison, the Dow managed to close up +0.04%, the Nasdaq lost -0.37% and the S&P 500 was off -0.13%. It was a snoozer unless you were in tech stocks which got beat up a little on the Apple news.

Wall Street slips as Fed holds on rates; financials rise

Now lets take a look at the charts. All signals are annotated with green circles. If you click on the charts they will become larger.

C Fund: Price remains within a bullish ascending wedge.

S Fund: Price remains in an ever so slight ascending channel. The SCTR has dropped to 69.1.

I Fund: This one held up pretty well on a somewhat negative day. Price remains within a strong ascending channel and the SCTR is strong at 80.7.

F Fund: Price has clearly broken down through the lower trend line. No surprises here with an SCTR of only 15.9. No way, not in my portfolio.

Between Apple and the Fed this was a slightly negative day. We’ll see if we can do better tomorrow! Have a nice evening and may God continue to bless your trades.

God bless, Scott 8-)

Good Morning, Another day another challenge. This market is anything other than boring and I say that not necessarily in a good way! When it comes to the market I think boring is good. That means less volatility and that means less stress. Nonetheless, we have what we have and we must deal with it.…

Good Morning, Our charts told us we were at the bottom and the fundamentals agreed. The opportunity was so compelling that we probably jumped back in a few weeks to early, but we wanted to make darn sure we were positioned for the run that would surely come. The market dipped and many chicken little…

Good Morning, Inevitably, we will have a down day and today is it. Believe it or not the S&P 500 has gone up the past nine sessions and it’s been a long time since it’s done that. So a down day today is not so bad. The recent run has pretty much put things back…
