Good Evening, The market marched on with it’s new found post Irma confidence again today. The news media touted how investors have taken their minds off of North Korea as well as Irma. However not all sectors of the market were up. The move up was mostly led by the financial sector which makes a lot of sense since treasury yields were higher today. Banks benefit from higher treasury yields. One thing I always look at is a simple thing, but just because it’s simple doesn’t mean it should be overlooked and that is the fact that bond prices move lower when treasury yields move higher. The longer this trend goes on the more money that moves from bonds to stocks and visa versa. The old adage when stocks are up bonds are down applies here.  There are other sectors of the market that don’t benefit from higher treasury yields and those are Utilities and Real Estate. Both of those sectors were down today. My point here is that you should always watch bonds. They can tell you a lot about the market.

Now lets take a look at the charts. All signals are annotated with green circles. If you click on the charts they will become larger.

I Fund:
F Fund: I went ahead and called this one neutral today as the MACD moved into a negative configuration. Although, the PMO has not done so yet it would take a dramatic reversal to avoid it crossing down through it’s signal line. That said, I made the Neutral call as the SCTR has dropped to 19.8. This one looks to be heading down for now.
Our job has been and remains to monitor our charts. It looks like smooth sailing for now in the I Fund where we have our TSP allocation. That’s all for tonight. Have a great evening and may God continue to bless your trades.
God bless, Scott 8-)

Good morning, I’ll keep this brief because I’m on the road again. This market is volatile! I don’t care what the so called experts say. I don’t care what the VIX is. I don’t care whether folks are making money or losing money. It is one of the most volatile and fluid markets I have…

Good Day, It’s time to adjust our mix. The new mix is 100/S. Please remember that this is the percentage of money that we have invested in each fund, not the money that is taken from your check and deposited into thrift. Those future contributions should always be 100% G Fund. That automatically protects your deposit in the event that it…
