10/24/17

Good Evening, The Dow hit another record today as heavily weighted component 3M (MMM) rose on a blowout report. That’s great but….. you must remember what we have talked about in the past. The Dow is not a good barometer of the market as a whole. Not that you need another example but I’m going to give one anyway because it’s just too good to pass up. Consider GE which is also a Dow component but with only about a tenth of the weight of 3M. It dropped -1.93% today. Imagine if it had equal weight with 3M. Then consider the fact that the Dow only has 30 stocks and there you have it. The rest of the market was somewhat flat.

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment moved up +0.18%. For comparison, the Dow gained +0.72%, the Nasdaq +0.18%, and the S&P 500 +0.16%. Praise the Lord for another positve day.

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Neutral, I-Neutral, F-Neutral. We are currently invested at 100/S. Our allocation is now +14.94% on the year not including the day’s results. Here are the latest posted results:

Good Morning, Either I am more aware of things than I used to be or the markets these days are just more stressful. I honestly think its the latter. This market is an every other day affair right now. Eventually the current state of affairs will settle down, but for now this is it! So….I…
