11/22/17

Good Evening, The market cooled off today after yesterday’s big run while many traders packed up for the holiday. Volume reflected a lot of traders leaving for Thanksgiving. About 5.18 billion shares changed hands in U.S. exchanges, compared with the 6.66 billion daily average over the last 20 sessions. Last year, volume during the session before Thanksgiving was 6.51 billion. There was a spat of buying just before the close which tells me that Monday is likely to be a good day. Friday really doesn’t count as volume will be light and trading will end early at 1:00 PM ET.

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment slipped back -0.05%. For comparison, the Dow dropped -0.27%, the Nasdaq added +0.07%and the S&P 500 gave up -0.08%.

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Neutral, S-Buy, I-Neutral, F-Neutral. We are currently invested with 100% of our interfund allocation in the S Fund. Our allocation is now +17.16% on the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results.

Good Afternoon, Yes, I’m a little late getting started with this today. I’ve been crazy busy dumping tech stocks and buying Industrial, Consumer discretionary, consumer staples, banks, and health care. I can’t recall this kind of vicious rotation in December in recent memory. This almost reminds me of when I was trying to figure the…

Good Day, It’s time to adjust our mix. The new mix is 100/S. Please remember that this is the percentage of money that we have invested in each fund, not the money that is taken from your check and deposited into thrift. Those future contributions should always be 100% G Fund. That automatically protects your…

Good Morning, We got a great PCE report on Friday showing relatively tame inflation.  The Commerce Department said that the core personal consumption expenditures price index for September – which was delayed due to the record-setting U.S. government shutdown – showed an annual rate of 2.8%, lower than the 2.9% Dow Jones estimate. Core PCE’s 0.2%…
