01/31/19

Good Evening, Well we get to close out the books on another month and move into a seasonally favorable time of year. February through April is statistically the second best period of the year to be invested. The best time is November and December which turned out to buck the trend this year. So hopefully we can make up for that as we leave January. The market moved up again today on continued momentum from yesterdays Fed statement and strong earnings from Facebook (FB). The majority of the indicators that I follow are pointing up. I guess all we really need right now is a trade agreement with China to get this party started.

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment posted a gain of +0.92%. For comparison, the Dow slipped -0.06%, the Nasdaq added +1.37%, and the S&P 500 was up +0.86%. Praise God for a good day!

The days action left us with the following signals: C-Buy, S-Buy, I-Neutral, F-Buy. We are currently invested at 100/S. Our allocation is now +0.96% on the year not including the days results. Here are the latest posted results:

Now lets take a look at the charts. All signals are annotated with green circles. If you click on the charts they will become larger.
C Fund:
S Fund:
I Fund:
F Fund: The F Fund generated an overall buy signal when the PMO and MACD moved into positive configurations. Two or more negative signals or the 5 EMA below the 50 EMA or 200 EMA  or an SCTR below 40 generate a neutral signal. Any three indicators negative accompanied by both or either the 5 EMA below the 50 EMA or 200 EMA or an SCTR below 40 generate a sell signal. A buy signal is generated then the 5 EMA is above the 50 EMA and the 200 EMA, One or less indicators are negative, and the SCTR is higher than 40. I’m not sure what to make of this buy signal. It is the only negative thing I can find about stocks right now. The majority of our indicators show that we’re moving up. We’ll have to keep a close eye on this and make sure it’s not a canary in a coal mine…….

I’m cautiously optimistic. That’s all for tonight. Have a great evening and may God continue to bless your trades. Stay warm out there!

God bless, Scott Sunglasses

Good Afternoon, The sky is falling right??? Well…..that all depends on your point of view. One thing we can all agree on though. This is a difficult market. It is not a pleasant market to trade. I’ve had more than a few comments and questions mostly off the record. It’s going down we’re losing money….…

Good Day, You can read about anything you want to read about the current market. If you have a certain point of view you can find an article to assuage your feelings. It’s nice to feel good, but that kind of feel good doesn’t necessarily make you money. Just because you can find someone who…

Good Morning, I hate writing about things like this. Nobody really wants to hear it but it’s something that must be done. Are my message boards flooded? Oh yeah. You’ve got the combination of an unprecedented global event coupled with the fact that a lot of folks that are trading now never experienced a market…
