02/21/19

Good Evening, The market traded lower today after three disappointing economic reports. Specifically, the Commerce Department said new orders for key U.S.-made capital goods unexpectedly fell in December, pointing to a further slowdown in business spending on equipment that could crimp economic growth. Next, the Philadelphia Federal Reserve’s gauge of U.S. Mid-Atlantic business activity declined in February to its weakest level since May 2016 and a third report showed U.S. existing home sales dropped last month to the lowest level since November 2015. There you have it. The selling probably would have been worse if not for the thought that a trade agreement may be reached with China before March 1st. Although President Trump has stated that March 1st is not a “magic date” and he is open to extending the deadline on additional trade sanctions on Chinese goods if progress is being made in negotiations.

The days trading left us with the following results: Our TSP allotment fell back -0.43%. For comparison, the Dow dropped -0.40%, the Nasdaq -0.39%, and the S&P -0.35%. They just can’t go up everyday but I still thank God for our recent good returns.

Good Morning, Our charts told us we were at the bottom and the fundamentals agreed. The opportunity was so compelling that we probably jumped back in a few weeks to early, but we wanted to make darn sure we were positioned for the run that would surely come. The market dipped and many chicken little…

Good Morning, Inevitably, we will have a down day and today is it. Believe it or not the S&P 500 has gone up the past nine sessions and it’s been a long time since it’s done that. So a down day today is not so bad. The recent run has pretty much put things back…

Good Afternoon, This was a Fed Driven market. It was all about when the Fed would be reducing interest rates based on inflation and that’s still the case to a certain degree, but in all actuality everything is waiting on the outcome of the tariff situation. So given that fact I’m going to say that…
