Good Evening,

The sell off continued in what is the worst week of performance since at least 2011. Again, we watched in thrift with our sell orders in, helpless to do anything to stop the losses. To compound the frustration, our members on the street made money again today as well as on the week in precious metal and bond funds that are not available in Thrift. Don’t get me wrong. TSP is one of the better retirement systems to be in, but its lack of diversity, lack of real time trading, and limited trades are a killer in times like these…. On to the sell off…

Stocks: Heading for the exits

The week’s selling left us with the following signals: C-Sell, S-Sell, I-Neutral, F-Buy. As of the close of today, we are invested at 08/G, 92/F. Again, it was frustrating watching a loss that was not necessary. We made our interfund transfer request yesterday evening and still had to watch helplessly as the selling went on throughout the day. Such is the TSP beast. It tries to force you to buy and hold as that appears to be the philosophy of the Thrift Board. It is a flawed philosophy that costs TSP participants a lot of money. There’s nothing most of you can do about it now, but when the time comes get out! Our allocation is now -2.89% for the year not including today’s results. Here are the latest posted results:

Is this the real correction we have been waiting for? It’s not a done deal, but it’s looking more like it every day.
Resistance is now broken. My new downside target for the S&P 500 is 1760. Other than that, nothing has changed. The chart is a solid sell…..

I’m done railing on Thrift. I just get frustrated when we make money on the street and lose in TSP. Our strategy is now to wait this out in the G and F Funds. Hopefully, we won’t get squeezed again and pay for an insurance policy that we don’t need. Just keep on praying, God will get us through this as he always does. Give Him the praise! May He continue to guide your hand. Have a nice weekend and don’t worry about this. It will be there on Monday.
God bless,

Good Afternoon, The theme we’ve been discussing in our recent blogs has been pretty spot on. Sticky inflation and speculation over what the Fed will do about it has kept the market trading mostly sideways. There really hasn’t been a lot to gain unless you are a short term trader and if you are you…

Good Morning, Summers here and we’re all busy, so I’ll try to keep it brief this week. Last Thursday our charts showed a change in trend. So we reentered the equity market with the S Fund which had the strongest chart and were rewarded with a nice day on Monday. However, the two trading days…

Good Day, It’s time to adjust our mix. The new mix is 100/S Please remember that this is the percentage of money that we have invested in each fund, not the money that is taken from your check and deposited into thrift. Those future contributions should always be 100% G Fund. That automatically protects your deposit in the event that it is…
