12/22/2020 Merry Christmas!!

Good Evening, This years quickly drawing to a close, but it appears God’s not done blessing us yet. Our call to get in small caps or at least in Thrift a small cap/mid cap blend has paid extraordinary benefits in the 4th quarter. Small caps stocks generally do well in the fourth quarter but I must admit that I’ve never seen anything quite like this. Today was another good example. The S&P 500 slipped for the third day in a row and small caps posted yet more gains. So why? Does it matter?? All we need to do is read our charts well to run our system but it is always nice to know why when it supports what your reading on the charts which in this case it does. There is one simple reason for the outperformance of small caps. A great deal but not all of tech stocks are small caps and a great deal but not all of small caps are tech stocks. Think about that. It’s not just a play on words… The market has favored tech stocks throughout the pandemic mostly because they where unaffected where as many industrial stocks shut down. Ditto that for restaurants and brick and mortar retailers just to name a few more. It could even be said that tech stocks flourished in the work and home/ remote learning environment. Again, not all tech stocks are small caps (Apple and Microsoft come to mind), but many are and that’s what fueled this run. All that said, small caps are not the only way we are being blessed. The more movement we get in the market the better our system performs. Again why? We don’t buy and hold. Our money is made by selling high then buying back low and this year was the best in history for that system. How good??  This will be the first year in history when stocks were off 30% for the year at one point and finished in the green. This year has been truly amazing. Such a wonderful money making opportunity for those who actually manage their money. I’m not mentioning this to brag. I do nothing apart for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. No, my purpose in this is two fold. #1 That you can learn from it. Lets face it. I’m not going to be here forever. Some of you will be managing your portfolios when I am bowing at the feet of Jesus. What is the old saying? Fish for someone and feed them for a day. Teach them to fish and feed them for life. #2 To give you something to feel good about during this Covid 19 Christmas. God has given you a gift that will last long after He vaqueshes this demonic virus to the pits of hell where it came from. Some day when you all retire you will have a little extra for a special Christmas that God gave you during the great pandemic. So in the midst of your canceled plans, when you miss being with family or whatever your inconvenience might be, take some time to thank God for blessing your future. You see. He always thinks ahead. Then after you do that. Take just a little more time and think about how He really blessed you. Someday all the things of this world, all these temporary things, all of this STUFF will fade a way. But the gift that God gave us so many years ago will never fade away. The baby Jesus born to the virgin Mary in a stable in Bethlehem. The lamb of God who was sacrificed for our sins. The free gift from God of eternal life for those who accept it. Never forget that this gift is like any gift. In order to receive it you must accept it. Yet again, how?? If you are washed in the blood and spirit filled you already know that answer. However, if you are out there and you don’t know it’s simple. That baby Jesus who was delivered to the world made it that way when He grew up and sacrificed His life on a cross at calvary. When He did that. He did it for you. When He said “It is finished” He took all the hard stuff out and made it so simple that even a child could understand. Romans 10:9 Says that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. So what do you have to do? Believe, that’s all. Just believe. Once you’ve accepted that gift you will realize how insignificant all the other things we talked about really are……

Good Evening, Wow, where do I start tonight? First let me talk briefly about last Thursday’s interfund transfer. We issued the transfer alert at 11:00 AM  that day and there were several folks that didn’t see it in time to make the trade before the TSP deadline of 12:00PM. Given the next days drop their…
